College of Electrical Engineering Hosts Sub-forum of the 13th Global Young Scholars Forum

On the morning of November 28, the Sub-forum of the 13th Global Young Scholars Forum of Sichuan University—organized by the College of Electrical Engineering—was held at the Wangjiang Campus.

Fifteen young scholars from top-tier domestic and international universities were invited to participate. Institutions represented included the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), the University of New South Wales (Australia), Aalborg University (Denmark), the University of Bath (UK), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Tohoku University (Japan), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Chongqing University.

College leadership, department and center directors, faculty representatives, and young talents gathered to engage in academic exchange and discuss the future of the discipline. Wang Dong, Assistant Dean of the College, moderated the forum.

To open the session, Zhao Yuhui, Party Secretary of the College, extended a warm welcome on behalf of the college to the scholars participating both online and offline. He noted that the university is currently in a crucial period of planning for the "15th Five-Year Plan." He emphasized that national development, university construction, and the transformational growth of the electrical engineering discipline urgently require exceptional talents. This creates a favorable environment and a robust career platform for young scholars to return to China and join the College of Electrical Engineering at Sichuan University.

Secretary Zhao highlighted the college’s strong growth momentum, fertile ground for interdisciplinary research, and comprehensive support for work-life balance. He framed the college as a promising stage for personal growth, academic development, and career advancement, sincerely inviting aspiring talents to join in building a world-class discipline and achieving their life goals.

Xiao Xianyong, Dean of the College, provided a detailed introduction to the college's history, talent cultivation, faculty team, disciplinary development, and research innovation. He stated that the college has implemented a series of supportive policies. Through measures such as strong team backing, the careful nurturing of academic achievements, and targeted personalized support, the college has laid a solid foundation to inject momentum into the careers of young faculty. He expressed hope that young scholars would bring their talents to Sichuan University, demonstrating innovative vitality and building brilliant careers while contributing to the nation.

Following the speeches, the participating scholars introduced their research fields, academic achievements, and future plans. The experts and young scholars engaged in in-depth discussions, fostering a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere at the venue.
