On September 16th, President Sylvia Schattauer of Clausthal University of Technology in Germany led a delegation to visit Sichuan University, marking a new stage in the cooperation between the two universities. President Wang Jinsong of Sichuan University met with the delegation at the Mingde Building in the Wangjiang Campus. Zhao Yuhui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Electrical Engineering, attended the meeting, and both sides had extensive exchanges on further deepening cooperation. Prior to this, the Clausthal University of Technology delegation held a symposium with students from the Sino-German class in the Jiang'an Campus, where they had in-depth discussions on cooperative education and student training. The delegation included Hou Zhengmeng, Director of China Affairs and Director of the China Competence Center, Leonhard Ganzer, Director of the Underground Energy Systems Institute, and researcher Li Ke.
In the morning, the Clausthal University of Technology delegation visited the College of Electrical Engineering at Sichuan University. Zhao Yuhui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, and Xiao Xian Yong, Dean of the College, had extensive communication and exchange with President Sylvia Schattauer on further advancing the cooperative education project between the two sides. In the afternoon of the same day, the Sino-German cooperative education project student symposium was successfully held in Room C103 of the Comprehensive Building in the Jiang'an Campus. The event attracted more than 40 representatives from the 2023 and 2024 Sino-German classes to participate. Teachers and students spent the Mid-Autumn Festival together, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere. The symposium was hosted by Teacher Zhang Can in both Chinese and German.
At the beginning of the meeting, Xiao Xian Yong, Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering at Sichuan University, delivered a welcome speech titled "Join Hands and Create an International Future Together". He reviewed the close cooperation between the two universities over the past two decades and emphasized the significant achievements made in the undergraduate cooperative education program in electrical engineering and automation through the joint efforts of both Chinese and German sides.
