On the afternoon of September 12th, the welcome meeting for the new students of the 2024 Sino-German class in the College of Electrical Engineering was successfully held at the Jiang'an Campus. Attending the meeting were Secretary Zhao Yuhui of the Party Committee, Vice Dean Li Changsong, representative of the 2024 Sino-German project class teacher Zhao Lihua, Party Branch Secretary and Dean's Assistant of the Department of Electrical Engineering Chen Shi, representative of German teachers Amos Carlitz, project management teachers, and all undergraduate freshmen of the 2024 class. The welcome meeting was presided over by project counselor Zhu Yutian.
Vice Dean Li Changsong delivered a speech with "anticipation" and "adaptation" as key words, expressing a warm welcome to the new students and encouraging them to set ambitious goals and quickly integrate into university life. Teacher Zhao Lihua, on behalf of the class teachers, put forward four expectations for the students: "not afraid of hardship, willing to suffer losses, know how to be grateful, and learn to think." German teacher representative Amos Carlitz briefly introduced the characteristics of German language learning and its importance in the project in English, and encouraged everyone to adapt to the German learning model as soon as possible.
Yang Xiaoxi, a representative of the 2024 Sino-German class, expressed deep gratitude to the college, parents, and teachers in her speech. She stated that as a member of Sichuan University, she will remember the college's motto and face future challenges with a firm and brave attitude, looking forward to progressing hand in hand with her classmates and jointly writing the chapter of youth.
Secretary Zhao Yuhui of the Party Committee cited Mr. Wang Guowei's "Three Realms of Learning" to encourage new students to quickly change their identity and integrate into university life, from excellence to excellence.
