Image Information Institute is a section in fundamental research and application development focusing on image information acquisition, transmission, communication, identification, and computer applications. It has superior environments and a variety of advanced apparatus and equipments for science research and experiments. It has also powerful science research capabilities, including 3 professors, 4 associate professors, and 4 instructors.
The research and development projects in the institute have gained financial supports from National Natural Science Fund of China, international cooperation fund, provincial fund, enterprises and government-sponsored institutions. More than 10 projects have passed technical appraisal, more than 10 prizes for advancement in science and technology have been awarded by National Education Committee, 3 patents have been approved, and more than 300 papers and 8 books have been published. One of the award-winning projects, “Black-White Image and Color Image Analysis System”, has been known as a key project in national popularization of science and technology. The system has been widely applied in machinery and metallurgy, biomedicine, material analysis, traffic control, national defense science and technology, and so on. Now the institute has more than 400 customers and hold high reputation.
