Female, born in November 1964, and Ph.D., Professor Qiu Xiaoyan graduated with a degree in power system and automation from Sichuan University.  Professor Qiu has long been engaged in teaching and research in electrical engineering and automation. She currently teaches undergraduate courses Power System Analysis Theory, Computer-Aided Analysis of Modern Power System and graduate degree course Power System Analysis. She is editor-in-chief and editor to 3 textbooks, and has won first prize from the Sichuan University Teaching Achievements Awards and third prize from the Sichuan Province Excellent Teaching Achievements Awards. Professor Qiu has presided over and participated in more than 30 provincial and ministerial vertical projects and horizontal projects financed by power companies. She has published over 50 papers in core journals and EI indexed journals and at high-level international conferences. Her research interests include power system analysis and control, smart grid, distributed generation and micro-grid technology.
